What Documents Do I Need When Traveling to Visa-Free Countries? 

If you are a Singapore passport holder, you will need the following documents when you travel to visa-free countries:

  • A passport valid for at least one year on entry with adequate blank visa pages

Do Singaporeans Need a Visa to China?

No. Since 26th July 2023, China has resumed the 15-day visa-free facility for Singaporeans traveling to China on ordinary passports. That means if you are a holder of a Singapore ordinary passport, you do not need a China visa application to travel to China. Better yet, with effect from 9th February 2024, holders of Singapore ordinary passports will be exempted from visa requirements for a stay of up to 30 days in China. Can I Extend My Stay in China after 30 Days?

Yes. Currently, the Singapore to China visa-free entry is 15 days. Starting on 9th Feb, the Singapore to China visa-free entry will be up to 30 days. If you’d like to extend your stay in China, you should extend your visa 7 days before the expiration date. If you already have a 30-day visa, you can extend it for up to another 30 days. The application process is as follows:

  1. Prepare the necessary documents: 
  • A valid passport
  • The former Chinese Visa
  • The Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Foreign Visitors
  • A completed visa permit application form
  • A recent passport-size photo
  • Relevant supporting documents such as proof of accommodation and return airline tickets.
  1. Go to the Exit & Entry Administration Office of the Public Security Bureau and apply for the visa.
  2. Pay the application fee of CNY 160.
  3. Wait for the confirmation within 7 working days. If approved, you can continue to stay in China.

Can Singaporeans travel to the US visa-free?

Yes. The American Visa Waiver Program allows Singaporeans to travel to the US for up to 90 days without having to obtain a visa. You only need to have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval before traveling to the US. Or if you prefer to have a visa in your passport, you may apply for a visitor visa instead.
