When Do I Need to Renew Pakistani Passport?
In the UAE, you have two ways to renew your Pakistani passport:
- Go to the Consulate General Pakistan in Dubai or the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi (traditional).
- Utilize the service “e-Services Portal” without going personally (online).
If your Pakistani passport is about to expire or the passport needs more pages, it’s time to renew it to ensure you can work and live normally in the UAE.
- For a Pakistani passport, if its expiry date is less than 6 months then you can apply for a passport renewal at the Embassy or the Consulate General, otherwise, you will need to provide the affidavit of reasons for the renewal. E.g., damaged.
- For a Pakistani Machine-readable passport (MRP), if the remaining validity is 12 months or less, you can choose to renew it to a valid date of 5 or 10 years via the online service.
💡 Note: Minors under 15 years old cannot apply for a 10-year validity passport.

If you do an online application, you will be required to upload multiple documents. You need to prepare the colored photocopies. The formats are JPG, JPEG, and PNG. - The copies of the applicant’s Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), or Smart CNIC or NICOP.

Processing Time of Pakistani Passport Renewal
Online passport renewal takes around 16 minutes to process your application. In general, the normal fee passport will be issued after 21 working days, the urgent fee passport will be issued after 5 working days. The delivery time will depend on the specific address.
Pakistani Passport Service in Dubai
All Pakistanis in Dubai can apply for their passport renewal through the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dubai, or via the e-Services Portal. But, for some specific services, restrictions are using the e-Services Portal.
Services Available Online
Passport renewal for MRP due to expiration or damage can always apply via online service. And also, for some newly married females, partial modifications such as surnames changing can be applied via the online service.
Services Available Offline
The e-Services Portal can only be used for MRP and the following categories cannot be applied through online service. It is urged that you go to the embassy or consulate general.
- The first-time issuance of MRP needs to contact the embassy or consulate.
- Apart from partial modification for newly married females, full modifications for MRPs need to go to the embassy or consulate.
